David Sack, MD, President and CEO
Board Certified Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine with extensive operational experience. Dr. Sack previously served as President of College Health IPA, now the largest behavioral health group in California, SVP Community Programs Aspen Education Group, a startup he grew to > $20M, Senior VP Clinical Research, Comprehensive Neuroscience, Inc , a CNS focused SMO, where he grew his division from $5M to $30M. Rob Mahan, Chief Operations Officer
Rob joined Elements in April 2008 with over 13 years of financial work experience. Rob most recently served as VP of Finance for DaVita, the second largest dialysis provider in the U.S. with over $5.5B in annual revenue, supporting 5 different start-up businesses. While at DaVita, he also managed the 900 employee billing and collections team and started an organic growth team that led to a six fold increase in new facilities over 3 years. Jim Adams, Chief Financial Officer
Jim Adams joined Elements in November of 2012 with 29 years of financial work experience. Jim has been a CFO for both publicly traded and privately owned companies and has an extensive background in running financial operations for multi-site healthcare companies. Jim served as VP of Finance for Apria Healthcare Group, one of the nation’s largest home healthcare providers with revenues in excess of $1.2 billion. While at Apria, Jim’s responsibilities included integrating the financial operations of 33 acquisitions as well as the development of national standards and procedures for the company’s reimbursement centers. Jim also served as CFO for companies in physician practice management and hospital reimbursement services as well as insurance and IT services. Jim has a BA in Economics from UCLA and began his career with Ernst & Young.
Keith Arnold, Sr. VP of Clinical Outreach, Marketing, and Strategic Development
Until late August 2008, Keith served as Executive Director of Sierra Tucson where, since he joined in 1995 as Director of Marketing, he advanced through a number of increasingly more responsible positions. Under his leadership, Sierra Tucson expanded four fold and gained recognition as being the most successful Hospitals of its kind in the country. He is nationally and internationally recognized as a leader in the Addictions/Behavioral healthcare field. Prior to joining Sierra Tucson, Keith was Director of Client Services for an international management consulting firm for over seven years.
Vera Appleyard, Chief Internet & Marketing Officer
Vera joined Elements in 2009. She was the head of Aspen Education Group’s Internet Marketing efforts from 2000-2008. After the acquisition by CRC Health Group, she was promoted to Senior Director of Internet Marketing for all of CRC. Vera is a published author and produced screenwriter. Her experience as a professional writer fuels her highly effective, content-centered Internet strategies. She has a BA from Columbia University and an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Jennifer Gallagher, Chief Development Officer
Jennifer has over 25 years of experience overseeing acquisitions and business development for leading healthcare companies. Prior to joining Elements, Jennifer led the rapid expansion of MedOptions, an innovative multi-state geriatric behavioral health provider. Previous to that she was one of the founders of Mariner Health Group, a diversified post-acute care services company, where she directed a corporate development group which acquired $500 million of healthcare businesses and created joint ventures with hospital systems. Jennifer received a BA in Psychology from Connecticut College and an MS in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Elissa Weisberger-Cohen, VP Human Resources
Elissa served as the VP of Administration of Promises Treatment Centers for four years. During her tenure at Promises she oversaw the Human Resources, Accounting, and Administrative departments. In June 2008, she transitioned into the position of VP of Human Resources for Elements Behavioral Health. Elissa has an extensive background in the Human Resources Arena. She ran her own consulting firm and has worked in the legal, real estate development, and employment industries.
David Buckley, VP Finance
David joined Elements in March of 2008 with 22 years of financial work experience. He most recently served as VP of Finance for Long Term Care Group, the nation’s leading provider of outsourced services to the long term care insurance industry. He was responsible for managing and directing the financial functions while facilitating tremendous growth, with annual revenues of $5M to $120M over 11 years. In addition, he was instrumental in raising the initial capital and completing several sales transactions of the company during his tenure. David has a Masters from Thunderbird School of Global Management.
