Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 – This month, Malibu Vista mental health treatment center doubled the number of women it can treat, expanding from six to 12 clients. Since opening its doors in May 2013, Malibu Vista’s services have been in high demand with a wait list building over the past few months.

Malibu Vista is an exclusive residential mental health treatment center designed especially for women suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders and other psychiatric issues. Clients receive treatment in two private boutique-style residences in Malibu, California, with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

“We know the need is there,” said Program Director of Webster House Korina Jochim, MA, LMFT. “This expansion allows us to better meet that need by helping more women who are struggling with mental health disorders.”

Malibu Vista supports women’s recovery in a way that embraces their specific physical, mental, relational and spiritual needs. Using multidisciplinary, evidenced-based approaches, women experience a powerful transformation by participating in dialectical and behavioral therapy, equine therapy, neurofeedback, acupuncture, massage, nutrition counseling, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic experiencing (SE), aqua therapy, guided imagery, creative arts therapies such as art and music therapy and psychodrama, and daily individual and family therapy sessions.

When women’s unique needs are met, they flourish.

“In the six months that we’ve been treating women at Malibu Vista, not a single client has left treatment early, and many have extended beyond their initial discharge date,” said Kambria Hittelman, Psy.D., director of Malibu programs. “This is a testament to our clients’ commitment to healing and the comfort, safety and support they receive at Malibu Vista.”

Whereas some mental health treatment centers target crisis management, Malibu Vista focuses on long-term systemic change, which often encompasses medication stabilization and management and resiliency skills for healthy, independent living. Women at Malibu Vista receive comprehensive, highly individualized treatment from a skilled team of licensed therapists, psychiatrists and full-time registered nurses, all of whom are passionate about empowering women to rebuild their lives.

“Malibu Vista’s nurturing, gender-specific treatment environment helps women feel comfortable addressing all of their issues,” said Program Director of Cool Oak House, Dr. Sarah Stuchell. “Our small size allows us to customize treatment plans according to each client’s individual needs, while embracing and growing in a therapeutic community of other women who often share in their pains and joys. The women here have a tendency to help each other as they help themselves. It’s very inspirational.”
