Sex and Pornography Addictions Explored at LSU: Presentation by Renowned Sex Addiction Expert and Elements Behavioral Health

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2011 – On October 26, 2011, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Robert Weiss, LCSW, CSAT-S, founder of the Sexual Recovery Institute and Director of Sexual Disorders Services for Elements Behavioral Health, will speak about the influence of online media on sex and pornography addictions.

Titled “Sex and Pornography Addictions in the New Media Frontier,” the presentation will explore the effects of online media on the problem of sexual addiction and offer strategies for healing relationships and putting an end to destructive behaviors. Clinicians and members of the public are invited to Lod Cook Alumni Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge to learn about sex and pornography addictions and the full range of treatment options.

“Sex and pornography addictions have existed for decades, but the easy accessibility of social networks, adultery websites, virtual chats, smartphone sex apps and other online media have presented new challenges for those with compulsive and addictive sexual disorders,” said Mr. Weiss. “Getting educated about sex and pornography addictions and their treatment will help clinicians be more effective in their practices and can be the first step toward healing for those struggling with these disorders.”

Robert Weiss is widely considered one of the nation’s foremost experts on sex, love and relationship addiction. A media expert to CNN, The Oprah Winfrey Network, ESPN, Dr. Drew and the Today Show, among others, Mr. Weiss also has provided clinical training and program development for the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. military and behavioral treatment centers throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

The Oct. 26 presentation is open to the public and is free with registration. To attend this free workshop, visit the Elements Behavioral Health events page or call Sherry Young, PhD, at (310) 956-9326.
